Wet 'N Wild Wild Shine Mint Fusion

Today we have Wet 'N Wild's new Mint Fusion. I was completely enamored with my swatch of this color and immediately did an manicure with it the second I took the swatches off. I wasn't totally blown away with it for some odd reason, however. The color is pretty cool. It's like a more saturated honeydew melon type of green with a light green/silver shimmer to it. The formula is pretty good, 2 coats, drying time a bit on the slow side. It's kind of Slimer-esque. Or like Nickelodeon slime. Do they still slime people on Nickelodeon? Hm. I wouldn't call this a mint green, though it does sort of conjure up some sort of mental image of the color of margaritas, or the flavor of a mojito... Nail polish conjuring a flavor for me... I must be tired.

Ramble ramble. Here are my pictures. It pulls a bit paler in these pictures, it actually has a good amount of yellow to it:

Perhaps it's the crap-tastic weather we've been having up here in NY (um, hello? It's May, not early March), but this is just not hitting it out of the park for me. I can't wait, however, to try the others from this release, I love the juicy color palette.

OK, that's all I've got to subject you to today! Thanks for reading :-)

OPI Shrek Swatches, Wet 'N Wild Summer Swatches, Haul & More!

Howdy guys! I have been neglecting things around here this past week and I regret it because thanks to Brooke over at Getcha Nails Did and her fabulous New Blogs On The Block feature, we have a few more followers! Woo! I really want to have a giveaway because I hit a pretty VTHF (drugstore) dusty motherload a couple weeks ago. Not at the Dollar Tree even, someplace totally random, and something harder to find than what's been showing at at Dollar Tree recently. Not that I'm bribing people to follow but...... I'd like to get a few more before I attempt anything like that..... ;-) More to come on that later.

This is a lengthy post, so brace yourselves! I went out today to hit a few haunts in my lovely hometown of Albany, NY. This meant I went to the mall, where we have a beauty supply that occasionally publishes 30% off three items or more coupons. They have a good selection of Essie, some Orly, China Glaze, all Color Clubs (core & LE), CND, etc, etc, as well as a full range of OPI, and they get the new collections. Enter Shrek. A collection of cremes, devoid of pink or red, including a few real bizarre ones. I only hauled a few, and they came to about $16 after my coupon, yes, for all three.

L to R: Fiercely Fiona, Who The Shrek Are You?, Ogre-The-Top Blue

OPI, you are being such a bitch lately, so I'd better get used to paying retail for you, because your creme formula is one of my favorites. It wears like iron. I didn't get Funkey Dunkey even though I wanted it badly, but I have China Glaze Grape Pop so I made myself say no (BTW I would've had to buy this one separately for retail at Trade Secret anyway, because the beauty supply was out). And the two pastels were too dupey of everything else coming out lately. I'm weak though, so I may go back for Funkey Dunkey yet. Dunkey??? Anywho, these look awesomely pigmented and weird... two things I love in a creme.

Here's some very dirty swatches (can you see why I don't do this often??)

L to R: Who The Shrek Are You?, Fiercely Fiona, Ogre-The-Top Blue & Wet 'N Wild Blueberry Fizz for comparison (see below).

Then I hit up a Rite Aid and they had the new Wet 'N Wild Wild Shines, were are ridiculously cheap at 99 cents, so I bought the 4 that appealed to me.

L to R: Berry Jubilee, Blueberry Fizz, Candy Apple Twist, Mint Fusion.

I'm crazy for bright cremes lately, though Mint Fusion has a bit of shimmer to it. These look bangin' for the price, so awesomely gorgeous. They're all kinda jelly-ish, too. But not the kind that would require 4 or more coats.

Bad swatches:

L to R: Berry Jubilee, Blueberry Fizz, Candy Apple Twist, Mint Fusion.

I also caved and bought Claire's Magic because it was $2 and someday I will want it like I wanted Yel and have to resort to begging and pleading for it.

No swatch of this one because I got tired and it's old news anyway.

Update: So, a few posts ago I mentioned that Bundle Monster dropped the ball on my 21 plate order. It's OK, they're probably getting a shitload of orders lately and not entirely prepared. As you all know and probably agree, it's about how the situation is handled afterward. I tried calling them with the number listed on Amazon. I didn't reach anyone, so I emailed. I received a response within an hour or two, stating that they'd send out the missing plates. I have to be honest: I wondered if I'd ever see them. Not that I didn't trust them, but they're a fairly new guy on the market, and have been getting a lot of orders lately. Who cares about some girl who was missing 2 plates? But they did!!! I got them today, less than a week later, the exact two I was missing!!!! I even ended up with a mystery plate. With my original order, it was missing BM05 and BM21, but there was another plate thrown in: B72. Not BM 72, just B72. It looks like this:

So I have this weird little plate that I'm not even sure where it came from. Anybody know if it's part of a different set? The point of this was just to reassure that Bundle Monster CS is, in fact, very good. Don't hesitate to contact them if you have any trouble.

Also: If you're looking for storage solutions for your Konad or Bundle Monster plates, check THIS out. It's my method (though not my idea), and I think it works super well!

OH, and incase you are not aware (though I'm not sure how you couldn't be), Zoya is having a promo with the code "LIPPY", which is officially for 3 of their Hot Lips Lipgloss, free. But, it shows up as an $18 discount and you can use it on polish & remover! I love Remove + but I don't buy it anymore because it's too expensive and I find Onyx (purple) to work just as well. If Remove + is your only poison, then it's a GREAT deal. I ordered 3 Zoyas I felt I was missing: Astra, Robyn & Sienna. It ends May 12th, so hurry!

OK, phew, back to NOTD's tomorrow, friends. I've got a few stocked up. Thanks for reading!

Wet 'N Wild Wild Shine Night Prowl

Nothing terribly exciting for you today, and I'm not quite sure why. This polish is very pretty. From what I gather, this is new to the Wet 'N Wild lineup, and best of all? It costs a whopping 99 cents. It's much prettier than my pictures will show. It also wore fairly well, but I did get some tipwear pretty quickly which is unusual for me. Not sure if that was me or the polish though, hard to tell. It's a sheer black loaded with purple glitter. Yay! These pictures fail to capture the sparkliness of it all. I don't k now why I'm not so enthused about it, but I think that's me and not the polish talking...

I guess, for once, I don't have much to comment on here... this polish was spot on and I can't complain on any front.

2 coats.

Very worth the investment. From the Wild Shine group, I also grabbed Blue Moon and Sunny Side Up recently, and I can't wait to try them, so I'm sure they'll be featured in posts pretty soon. Thanks for looking!

China Glaze Flyin' High

Ah, the polish that will just not photograph. Another offering from the Up & Away collection that was lovely--easy to apply, opaque in 2 coats, and I got a number of compliments on it. It was fun to wear. These photos.... it's almost like they're not even of the same polish. I mean... it's just so much more green in real life and so much less bright turquoise... this literally looks like it could just be China Glaze Shower Together or Aqua Baby... but no. It's Flyin' High. I swear. These are so inaccurate that I even included the last one, which isn't a good photo, to attempt to try to depict the color. I fail. But it's a great polish, wonderful. You'll love it. It just doesn't really look like what's picture below.

Sorry these are so weird and kinda disappointing!

On another note.....

Some recent drugstore finds! You'll see Stellare Notte & Blackmail in there, as well as Borghese Almondine (what a bizarre/cool polish--an oddly speckled beige with a pink flash) Wet 'N Wild's Disturbia, Night Prowl, and that wacky orange creme, Sunny Side up. On the far end is Sinful Colors Mint Apple. I may have to hit up a few drugstores, but I guess I've gotten pretty lucky with finding things. I also got a few of the new Milani polishes (not pictured), the green & purple holos, but the rest looked so identical to a couple of China Glaze Kaleidoscope color that I already had that I passed on them. Plus, they appear to be part of the permanent display so I'll hold off. There is a great CVS in my town that always has the new collections. Anyway, just a preview of things you'll probably be seeing on my nails in the near future....

Wet 'N Wild Megalast in Blackmail & Konad M73 & C02

Another fun little offering from Wet 'N Wild. This is a new one, which I searched high and low for in drugstores. Finally found it the other day, and it's very pretty! I don't own quite anything like it. It's a warm black, if there is such a thing, with lots of gold shimmer (microglitter?). Some of this shimmer looks green-tinged, so there might be some green in there too. These aren't the best pictures, but here it is...

This is 2 coats, with my usual base & topcoats. The formula was great, smooth, went on well. For $1.99 you can't beat the quality.

Then, as usual, I got antsy to play with Konad, and I whipped out a couple plates. Basically, another fail for me... haha.

That full nail design, from plate M73, was just awkward for me.... too wide for most of my nails, so it was hard to center it (see my pinky nail has barely any of the design), and yeah. The middle finger has a heart from one of the Coraline plates, C02, four of which I received in the mail just today! Wowsocool.com has 4 of them for sale individually (so you don't have to buy all of them or the whole kit). I liked that these designs were less cutesy that the majority of Konad plates... they need to do more like these! And, as you can see, I used Konad White Special Polish for the stamp... might have looked better with a gold design, methinks in hindsight.

Thanks for looking!

I'm back! And Wet 'N Wild Craze in Lust & Konad M59

So, I began this several months ago and things quickly petered out. I decided to start anew with things. I changed my blog address to something less ubiquitous. So ignore that old watermark on previous posts, I was too lazy to change it on the pictures. At any rate, despite my lack of blogging, I've been taking photos of my manicures nonetheless. So I'll start off with a recent one, just to get the ball rolling. Valentines Day---I hate Valentines Day. It's not a bitter single person hatred of the holiday (I'm happily engaged) but it's more along the lines of me thinking the holiday is just kinda ridiculous. At any rate, I celebrated on my nails, mostly because I have a zillion Konad plates and will use any excuse to break 'em out.

Luckily enough, I started my V-Day manicures a few days early, because, due to awful circumstances, I ended up having to attend a wake on the actual day. So I broke out RBL Grunge out of respect. Photos of that to come later.

The first one I did was Wet 'N Wild Craze in Lust, a pretty shimmery hot pink with a blue pearl to it. I did 2 coats (which was not entirely opaque, but I knew I was Konad-ing over it), and then the Konad plate M59 with China Glaze Millennium for the stamp. I topped it all off with a coat of Essie's Matte About You (Lust & Inferno, both from the Craze line, look awesome matte).

It was a bit brighter in person. I'm still perfecting my camera skills, as well as my Konad skills. I really liked this matte, though.

Thanks for looking!
